We had a PHUN day cleaning and sprucing up the float on Saturday. The float is FULL for the Christmas Parade, so we hope for good weather and good tidings on December 5th. Especially want to thank Pat Hart and Judy Jensen for taking care of everything from decorating the float to managing attendance, and our driver James Jacobs and his wife Bianca, sure take care of the float. THANKS FOLKS!!! |

From VP Boat Drink Steve Camp: The Christmas Party is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, 6-9 pm at Triple J’s on Thomas Drive. The maximum number of guests allowed is 50. 30 are now signed up. The meal is costing the club roughly $20 per plate, BUT we are only asking $8 for PCPHC members and $15 for non members, we are really trying to give our club members a gift here. If you are interested, contact Treasurer Marty Weddle at treasurer@panamacityphc.org.
The charity is the Panama City Council on Aging, and so instead of toys this year, please bring personal items that will go to shut-ins. Those items will be donated and given to our local population–so think of the things YOU would want if you were a shut-in. I guess it all DEPENDS…..
We will sell tickets at the door, however–50 is the max, we will have to cut it off right then. Best thing to do is contact Marty and get your ticket early. We have our own menu for the party, and Jeff and those darn Camaros will be providing your Christmas entertainment! Come enjoy the holidays with your Parrot Head friends!! |

So, you got the picture right? Friday, Dec 4 Christmas Party at Triple J’s, and Saturday December 5th is Christmas Parade where we will meet at 12:30 at the Marina Civic Center to get the float ready, From experience, let me say that Marina parking lot gets filled FAST, you won’t be able to park there, you will have to park possibly on the other side of the Civic Center. Facing the Civic Center, that’s on the left–but that lot will fill up fast too. The parade starts at 6 pm.

Bart Mason was the recently elected President of Parrot Heads in Paradise, our national organization. Meeting of the Minds, the national Parrot Head event in Key West, was “officially” canceled this year, however you know how us Parrot Heads are, so many folks across the country went to Key West anyway. The mask and social distancing laws in Key West are strong and enforced, however, several musicians and an unknown number of Parrot Heads contracted Covid from that weekend. Bart sailed on to smoother waters last week, and we give our thoughts and prayers to his wife Michelle. I checked the 2019 Rendezvous roster and sure enough, they were here, so you very well may have met them. He was obviously a very loved person. DGPH.*
Which also just goes to say–we aren’t out of the woods yet on this Virus, so please wear your masks, social distance when you can. If you feel like you have ANY symptoms, please don’t come to the Christmas Party or Parade–play it safe. Hopefully by this time next year we have vaccines ready and we can start preparing for 2022 and have more of a normal type year.

If you haven’t paid your dues, please do so. You should be able to check on your badge to see what month they were due. With the tumultuous spring and summer we have had, we realize that not everyone is comfortable coming to meetings or even going out. However at some point soon we will need to get our active roster straightened out, which means making people who are way behind on their dues INACTIVE. Please go to the website if you need to: http://www.panamacityphc.org
And finally, we hope you and yours have a wonderful and SAFE Thanksgiving holiday. If you are traveling, be extra careful, and if staying home, like many of us this year, eat well, and take care of yourself. And remember, above all,
IT’S GREAT TO BE A PARROT HEAD!
