We will be having a PHUN time this Saturday, Feb 11. We start decorating the float at NOON — please please come on out and help. A few of you have already volunteered for help and for wheel walkers, we always can use more, and the St. Andrews parade is actually a fun parade to walk. Our float will be somewhere around the Oakland Terrace School in St. Andrews (11th street and Fountain Ave). It’s cool to get there early enough to walk around and see all the other floats too. Weather is cooperating, it should be a great day! What could happen?

Yes, HELP WANTED FOR RENDEZVOUS!

We need help on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday of Rendezvous.

Wednesday morning, April 19 — difficult work. We will have day workers with us, but we still need guys or really physical girls there. The more people we have, the sooner it gets over. We have 90 sheets of Duradeck, they are 4 x 8 and weigh 80 lbs. First we build a road from the Front beach road down to where the stage will be. We drive the sound trucks down that road, then we pick up the Duradeck and use it for the walkways and this year WE HAVE ENOUGH FOR A DANCE FLOOR! We will have a forklift there, so it’s really just picking them up off the forks and placing them. Also–this has to happen in reverse on Sunday at noon. All in all it’s a 2-4 hour work day, and we will get you a t-shirt out of the deal! We will have Day workers there, but if you recall, last year on Sunday only 2 showed up. So please reply to this email if you can help us.

Wednesday afternoon — Goody bag stuffing! That part is fun!

Thursday morning, April 20 — this isn’t as physically demanding but it is out on on the beach, and requires some mental capacity to put the stakes in the ground where tents will go. We have a map, and we have to knock a stake for spot 1, 2, 3, etc…..up to whatever we stop with. Then we have to erect the orange mesh fence around the whole Rendezvous area. This is happening while people are waiting to put their tent up. So the sooner we can get this completed, the sooner people can get their tent up. And as well, on Sunday, it all has to be taken down. ALL HANDS ON DECK, HEY GUYS WE NEED YA.

Oh yea–have you EVEN registered for Rendezvous yet? We are a good bit ahead of last year’s numbers, so we will be shutting off reservations earlier than ever. Day passes are $60 this year, and they will be available.
