This Friday, March 5th, we will be at Barracuda Beach Bar and Grill, and we have CADILLAC ATTACK! This duo from Pensacola really know how to rock a place and I know we will have a great time. We are still needing some more bottles of liquor for our April 24th Phins Up Phling, so please, bring us a good or at least interesting bottle of liquor so we can make more baskets to raise more money. So again, Cadillac Attack will definitely keep you listening, so we hope to see you there!

It was nice to donate a big check of $714 to the Panama City Rescue Mission the other day. The Rescue Mission is on the front lines of poverty in our city, and between Hurricane Michael and Covid, a whole new group of homeless people exist, many with challenges that are hard to imagine–and this is the place they turn to when they have nowhere else to turn. Since the hurricane, the Men’s center has been shut down completely, and the women’s center has now rebuilt. In a nutshell, in the 3 hour drive between Pensacola and Tallahassee, there is NO place for a homeless man to go right now. Let THAT sink in. The men’s center is being rebuilt, and they hope to have it ready within a few months. But it was uplifting to see these women in the picture battling addiction, abuse, language and citizenship battles, just about everything you can imagine and more, yet working and trying to battle to keep themselves alive.

Meeting of the Minds, Key West, FL, Nov 3 – 7
Meeting of the Minds is the “national convention” of Parrot Heads and if you want to get buried in Parrot Head-ness, this is the place to go. As of right now about 10 of us are going, and if we can come up with 20 of us, we will get shirts made ($10) and everyone will recognize the Panama City Parrot Head Club. There is already a combined party for Emerald Coast Parrot Heads and Panama City Parrot Heads, and enjoying the beauty of Key West is definitely a bucket list thing. Doing it with 3500 other Parrot Heads just makes it more fun. Now—here’s the catch. It’s expensive to stay in Key West anyway, and this weekend of the year is tough, so you would need to get your place on your own as soon as you can. If you can get 4, or 6, or 8 people in a group, and get a large place to share, it’s a little more affordable. For more information, go to:

If you have never been–it is something you will never forget!

Anyone for Golf? On March 27 there is the D.W. Smith inaugural golf tournament at Panama Country Club. These are all fun events, there is plenty of fun, plenty of beverages provided, etc. BUT–it’s $575 for a 4 person team AND to sponsor a hole, where we would put our banner out. We need three more people to join me and let’s go have fun. The club can’t pay for it, we will have to. But whether you are “A” player or a “D” player, it’s all okay and we can have a blast! If you are interested, please reply to this email and let’s see if we can get 4 Parrot Heads to make a team. (and if you are an “A” player–we will find a way for you to pay!!)
