We still start selling float spots this Friday night, Jan 20, at Margaritaville. First, the charity this Friday is The Ark in Panama City Beach, a place for people in transition for whatever reason. If you recall, they were our charity in July or August of last year and we raised $1000 for them because their gift baskets were way cool!! And from what I have heard they have made some awesome gift baskets this week too. So the charity is the Ark and Jeff and the Camaros are the entertainment, see you at Margaritaville Friday night!

As far as float spots: We have the Port side, the Starboard side, the Poop deck, and the bow. The Bow–the front of the float has 4 spots @ $40. The Port, Starboard, and Poop deck are $35. We are doing the St. Andrews parade only this year, on Feb 11. Beads are $45 a box, yes they have gone up like everything else. The St. Andrews Mardi Gras parade is a ton of fun and this will sell out quick. If you register, you aren’t assigned a spot, just assigned a deck, and on the deck it’s first come first serve on Feb 11.

The answer is YES, PLEASE start bringing bottles and other Rendezvous worthy stuff to our meetings! (NO WINE PLEASE) Beth Sturdivan is our Raffle Queen and Debbie Renken is our Auction Queen. Look for some changes with the Auction this year, and we are going to try to do a “test run” of an online auction in February at one of our meetings. Here is how this works:

— You go to a website with a link that we provide.

–You put a credit card # on that app.

–You bid on an item, and from there it prompts registration

–We have pictures and a description of the items available in the auction site.

–You make a bid.

–You are notified if someone out bids you.

–From the comfort of your chair, you continue bidding until the auction closes.

–When the auction closes the winner is determined and their credit card is charged.

So think of what this accomplishes. A cash free environment. The price is on your credit card the moment you win. No more having to run credit cards at the end with a line of people waiting. You can sit in your chair and bid on items. We have people who can help you download and install the app, it isn’t difficult. More on this later, and we will do our best to have a test run at a February meeting. THIS IS GOING TO BE WAY COOL!
