Horses for Heroes!

A BUSY Friday—

August 5 – We will be at the No Name with the Tropic Sands band. Members of this group were Parrot Heads many years ago and we are glad to have them back as part of the phlock. They will be our entertainment Friday night at the No Name!

We actually kind of have two charities this Friday. First, Horses for Heroes. This group provides services to Combat Veterans for help with their physical and mental scars from service. They will explain more this Friday night and we hope to have a very special guest there too!

As well, it’s August, so you know it’s BACK TO SCHOOL time! The Women’s Civic Club of Panama City will be by around 7 or 7:30 to pick up School Supplies that WE donate. For both meetings in August, please go to Walmart or a Dollar Store or Target or somewhere for school supplies. Here’s where it gets tricky. See the image below to determine WHAT you should purchase. I know this requires actual thinking, so for some of us that’s tricky!! Please bring the things that correspond to the first letter of your last name. We figure a little organization is better than no organization. The Women’s Civic Club will distribute them to our local schools.

Then Sunday, August 7th at 2 pm we go bowling! Come to Rockit lanes and show off your bowling cred.

NOW PLEASE RSVP this email and let me know if you are coming. Please come a little early, around 1:30 or 1:40, and please bring cash. ($31 for two games and shoe rental). If everyone brings cash, we can have ONE person pay on a credit card instead of all of us having to stand in line. So it will be a lot easier if:

A) You let me know you are coming, and

2) Bring cash so you can pay whoever the lucky guy is with a credit card.

Then the next day, Saturday August 20, at 2 pm, we will have our Salute to Summer at Rick Seltzer park on Thomas Drive. This is a no pressure/low pressure thing. We will supply pulled BBQ pork, buns, plates, and paper towels, and everything else is on you! If you want to bring a side, that’s fine, if you don’t, that’s fine. We are just going to sit our butt’s in a chair there on the beach and enjoy the Church of Parrot Headness. We will have a couple of tents and 2 or 3 tables. Again this is a no pressure meeting just hanging out with your phriends on the beach. (We will move this to Sunday if it rains on Saturday)

And….
