PCPHC – NEW INFORMATION REGARDING THE PIER PARK MARDI GRAS PARADE ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2022
February 12, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Mardi Gras Parade at Pier Park will be Saturday, February 12. The parade will begin at 4:15pm.
The Staging area will be on Stingray Drive behind JC Penney’s near Powell Adams Road. Our Parrot-
Head Float (Krewe of Margarita Island) will be the located between Region’s Float and the Bid-a-Wee
float will be behind us.
The parade route is roughly a little over one mile.
Tailgate party will start on Saturday afternoon after our float is ready with all decorations are
completed. We may need volunteers to help put float Mardi Gras decor on. Should start at 1pm.
We will need to be ready to move out onto the parade route at 3:15pm.
Wear your Parrot Headiest outfit!
No open containers are allowed but cups are fine with whatever you want to drink.
For walkers – there is a mandatory safety meeting at 2:30pm on Stingray Drive adjacent to the JC
Penney. Wheel walkers are not to throw beads. Their sole job is safety.
No beads can be thrown while prepositioned or rolling on Powell Adams Road. The actual parade
does not commence until we turn onto Front Beach Road. The Panama City Police will be monitoring
for violators and they will pull the float from the parade. Once you are established on Front
Beach Road you may start to throw beads.
For people riding on the Pier Park float – we put your name (on duct tape) next to your numbered position.
If you purchased beads your beads should be at or near that station. The box of beads will have your
numbered position and your name.
Positions 1 through 17 are on the lower level of the float. Positions 18 through 28 are on the upper
deck of the float.
We hope everyone has a enjoyable Mardi Gras Parade!
