We are definitely in the dog day’s of summer so it is appropriate that our designated charity this month is Heartland Animal Rescue. We will collect money from the 50/50 drawing on Friday 6th meeting, and hope to collect food and other dog/cat related things on August 20th.
Safe Phlocking: Keeping our phlock safe is an important consideration for the Board. We had all anticipated that with the advent of the vaccination, that Covid 19 was going to be so….well so 2020. And it looks the delta variant is surging again. We members of the board are following all guidance from State and Local agencies. We intend to keep meeting outdoors to the maximum extent. We still encourage everyone to please get vaccinated. But we recognize that vaccination is voluntary. We just don’t want to lose any of our folks due to lack of a VAXX.
“Phixing the Phloat.” Pat Hart is working on our float for the upcoming parades. Many of you may have noticed the smell of smoke and burned bearings on our last outing. Our trailer is getting new wheel bearings and new tires. And we are even giving it a little facelift as we move from Mardi Gras to Pirate Parade. Stand by for more.
Finally for potential volunteers. The best way to get to know the club is to volunteer for something. Several folks have already approached me….and we are going to be putting you all to good use.
Well that is all I can think of for now. See you at the next phlocking this Friday.
