PCPHC – EVENTS FOR NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER

November 19, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

And just like that…it’s the holiday season!
Our next meeting will be Friday, Nov 19 at Buster’s Hangar 67 on Thomas Drive. They have been good to us, and it’s inside which is a plus in November. Our entertainment will be Cornbread and Coconuts out of Dothan, if you recall they played for us at No Name a few months ago and got high ratings from everyone!
Our Charity will be the Wounded Warrior Project here in Panama City Beach. We will have BOTH a Silent Auction for some beautiful holiday wreaths, as well as a 50/50. A speaker from the Wounded Warrior Project will be there too! Yes Veterans day is today, but we will be celebrating it next Friday night!
December 3rd meeting: location—TBD, entertainment–TBD
Yes Virginia, there IS a Christmas Parade this year.
But NO Virginia, we are not participating.
With the late notice of the parade and all the trouble it is to get the float “Parade Ready” the Board of Directors did not feel the urge to bust ass to be in the parade. The Christmas parade is the most difficult one to prepare for and pull off, and so this year we are NOT going to be in the Jaycees Parade in December.
Christmas Party, Dec 11
Saturday, December 11 we will have a full Christmas Dinner and Jeff and the Camaros at Buster’s Hangar 67! This year the event is being catered by an outside vendor (Cahills)–that means that we MUST have an RSVP at least 7 days before. The cost is $15 and you have to pay up front. Click this link right here to purchase your tickets to the Christmas party.
Our charity will be Toys for Tots for Bay County—so you know what that means–please bring a toy!!
Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, gravy, broccoli cheese casserole, rolls, peach or apple nut cobbler!
If you don’t want to pay online you can pay at either the Nov 19 or Dec 3 meeting. However, if you wait till the last minute and show up, we may not have enough food for you, and you will have to wait till the others are done before you eat. We hate to have to be like this,e but the caterer obviously has to know how many mouths they must feed.
As well, we need some volunteers for the front desk to check people in and get your wrist band, and possibly servers too. Please reply to this email if you are interested in volunteering. And let’s thank our secretary Jerry Swank who took this on herself and did a GREAT JOB on negotiations, organization, and the whole enchilada. GREAT JOB JERRY THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
.
From the President:
Good grief, it seems like I blinked twice and summer turned into Christmas season. And we just had our Halloween party, and haven’t even done Thanksgiving.
I just want to take the time to tell ya’ll (see how I tried to sound like I was from the south?). I want to thank you all for the fun you have created for our club…each and every one of you that come for the party and stay for the charity.
Fall and winter weather are beginning to affect us. Last Friday, November 5th, we cancelled our phlocking at No Name. It was just too cold and windy. You all must have seen it coming. We didn’t cancel until the very last minute, in fact it was 5:30pm. There were 3 people besides our 4 board members and it was just too chilly. We rarely cancel our outings based on forecast weather, because it can change so fast here on the beach. But suffice to say we are looking for a couple more indoor venues until spring time rolls around.
Next phlocking is coming up on Nov 19th at Buster’s Hangar 67. Our charity is the Warrior Beach Retreat. It will be a fun evening, and it is inside….so come and join us.
For now we have enjoyed our party at Buster’s Hangar 67. They have welcomed us and provided 10% discounts on drinks and food, and have contributed by giving door prizes and helping with the band costs.
We will look for more indoor options to get us through winter.
Can we talk about Christmas before we even get half way into November? The Christmas Party is coming up. It will be held on Saturday 11 December at 5:30 at Buster’s Hangar 67. This party is being held at Buster’s but it is being catered by Cahills deli. The food will be great. We’ve done this to keep the costs down. Dinner is $15 per person. As in the past, as part of giving back to our members, the club is offsetting part of the cost.
But we need your help! Please! Because it is catered we need a RSVP so we know how much food to order. Please help us out…..some of you may remember past Christmas parties where we have underestimated attendance and the last people through the line didn’t get much food.
Finally….it is an off-week….but our Jeff and the Camaros are performing at No Name Bar this Friday night. I plan to be there enjoying the music.
Ain’t it great to be a Parrothead?
